I'm an art historian with a deep interest in how economy shapes the human world, both from the social and the artistic point of view. I chose to live in Venice because I hate cars, and I've stayed because of its fascinating history. If you couldn't already tell, I'm a big nerd and I also love to collect board games and Lego bricks in my free time.

About Me
Q. What inspired you to become a guide?
I studied art history in university, and at first, I wanted to stay and become a professor. I actually started doing tours just for fun, but I discovered it was actually the perfect job for me. It's much more dynamic than working in the university.
Q. What do you love most about Venice?
Venice is unique, not just for the obvious reasons, but also for its history. Being a city of merchants with a republican government since the beginning, this place was a political experiment that helped shape a lot of thinking that later came into play when we were building our modern countries. There is so much more beyond gondolas and masks!

Q: Best time of year to enjoy Venice?
If you want to visit Venice without the crowds, come in winter (November and December). Early spring and late autumn is when we have the best weather and is a nice time to book a trip.
Q: What's something you shouldn't miss when visiting Venice?
The Biennale is probably the most important cultural event. It's been taking place in Venice for over 100 years where top talent from around the world showcases art and architecture exhibits between the months of May and November. I would definitely suggest visiting somehow.
Q: What are some unmissable foods and drinks?
Seafood, especially baccalà mantecato (cod whipped to make it like a cream to put on bread) and sarde in saor (sardines marinated with oil, onion and raisins). You also have to try a spritz, Venice's signature cocktail paired with cichetti (finger food) or a good tramezzino (cold sandwich).
